Reconstructive is an exhibition of abstracted paintings that are connected to contemporary life. References from the everyday such as architectural details, botanical forms, and advertising media are translated into a repertory of abstracted forms for new painting. Stripped of specific reference and particular identity, the forms in these works trade instead in echoes, shadows and absences.

Flattened forms are grouped, arranged and overlaid. Composites and compound shapes use indeterminacy and interpretation as a way to encourage new associations and form new meanings. Abstracted forms are disassembled and reassembled, investigating a visual acuity at an intersection of work and play.
