Recreation Gestures, 2019
Perfect Match, Camperdown Commons, Sydney

Recreation Gestures is designed to highlight the unique community identity of the Camperdown Commons as a place for sporting and training and where children play. The abstracted and enlarged dynamic gestural marks reflect the active and healthy movement of people with a focus on the Tennis Centre. The colour palette compliments the local green spaces including the Camperdown Park and Community Garden. Enlarged and overlapping shapes and gestural marks create a multidimensional visual space which is a metaphor for the interconnected way that we relate with places and with each other. This work emphasises dynamic rhythm and movement, the visual interactions between shapes reflects an active and engaging interaction between people.

Perfect Match is an initiative of Inner West Council bringing together artists, residents, businesses, property owners and community to collaboratively create fantastic new street artworks in public places.
